First Feis (if offered), Beginner 1, and Beginner 2 (Advanced Beginner), are required to dance at traditional speeds.   Novice dancers may CHOOSE between “tradition” and “Oireachtas” speeds.

First Feis, Beginner, Advanced Beginners, Novice, & Prizewinner perform TWO “steps”.  A “step” is comprised of a series of movements performed for 8 bars on the right foot, & 8 bars of the same choreography performed on the left foot.

*Note:  The “Hop Jig” is not considered a “core” dance required for dancers to advance to the next grade level, and therefore not regularly taught in class.
